BarIn 1904, the Evian Mineral Water Company bought the farm and land run by the Berthet family and built a 9-hole golf course in preparation for the opening of the Hotel Royal.
At an altitude of 500 metres and facing Lausanne, this was one of the first golf courses in France that was to rapidly win over its visitors thanks to its superb views and its vegetation immortalised by Lamartine.
The second 9 holes were built in 1922 and the first Evian Masters took place in 1994.
Between 1988 and 1990, the course was completely renovated by architect Cabell B. Robinson, former assistant to Robert Trent Jones. Since 1994, the year of the first Evian Masters tournament, the course has been remodeled to anticipate the ever-increasingly high level of the players and to comply with the latest USGA regulations. In particular, the course was lengthened in 2003.
Over the years, this challenging course has affirmed its personality via its own codes - wood, stone and flowers - found in the local region that boasts beauty and generosity.
Today, the Evian Masters course is a highly technical 18-hole course (6, 054 metres, Par 72) featuring magnificent views of Lake Geneva and the surrounding Alpine summits. Technically challenging with its well-defended greens and narrow fairways, it holds many surprises in store for players, who can also enjoy the stunning panorama.
In a wooded park of 60 ha, the 18-hole par 72 course at the Evian Masters Golf Club offers you the impeccable quality of a championship course combined with the beauty of an exceptional location.
