Golf made its first appearance in the region in 1893. The present course, built in the late 1920's, was designed by the famous architect Tom Simpson. The course, which is ranked among the 1000 best in mainland Europe, nestles in unspoiled woods and fens on the hills above the renowned thermal resort of Spa. The challenge it offers is such that the club has hosted many Belgian Opens and other international competitions.
