5942 m, Par 72. The massive gray square structure of the Monastery of Luvinate stands out clearly from the green of the golf course which slopes gently down the Campo dei Fiori: this is the Varese Golf Club, one of the most renowned and characteristic of the old established clubs. It was not new to Varese as one of the first courses in Italy was created at the Hotel Excelsior in 1898. The medieval monastery of Luvinate dates back to the XII century and makes ideal premises for a club house. Skilfully restored, it has housed the club house since 1934 and the historical and architectural setting is unique. The 18-hole course comes up to expectations in all ways and is pervaded with the atmosphere of the club's long history.
