BarA visit here is a must for all golfers; the beginner is catered for on the 9 hole Dene course and the Purbeck Championship course proves an exciting test for even the most accomplished golfer. The Club dates back to 1892, and among the past owners, who were responsible for the extension to 27 holes, were Enid Blyton, the legendary writer of childrens books, and her husband, Dr Darrell-Waters. The courses are built on heathland and are set within a nature reserve where many rare plants can be seen as well as rare birds. The restaurant has a well deserved reputation for excellent fare and very good value. We hope to make your next visit a day to remember.
It is enough just to sit in the clubhouse and "drink it all in" - indoors as well as out.
The magnificent Purbeck Stone Clubhouse, which was built as recently as 1966, contains fossilised dinosaur footprints and huge ammonites more than 150 million years old, which are all built into the interior walls.
The clubhouse is open every day from 8 till 5 during the winter months and from 8 until late during the summer months.
Sky Sports coverage available on a wide screen TV.
