The golf course is one of Ireland’s top-rated parkland golf courses. Established
in 1993 and designed by top golf course designer Paddy Merrigan, it has hosted
numerous championship events including the Irish PGA Championship, North West of
Ireland Opens (European Challenge Tour) and the Quinn Direct Irish PGA Charity
Pro-ams. The golf course is located
within 300 acres of beautiful manicured grounds with two natural lakes. With
numerous tee options the course is suitable for golfers of all standards from
beginners to low handicaps. The
Clubhouse, which is attached to the main hotel building, boasts numerous
facilities including a proshop, baggage storage area, comfortable ladies and
gents locker rooms with shower areas and the Summit Bar & Restaurant which
has panoramic views over the golf course. Buggy hire and taylormade club hire
are available.
As with all top golf
resorts, Slieve Russell has extensive practice facilities including a
putting green, driving range and practice green. The resident PGA golf
professionals are available for tuition including the latest swing analysis and
teaching technologies. The resort
also has an excellent 9 Hole academy golf course which is perfect for beginners
or for golfers wishing to sharpen their short game.
